French Sterling Silver Sauce Pot Wood handle & Finial on Lid Marked .950 Fine
Presented is an elegant spouted sauce pot with a single wood hand carved wood handle and a wide spout with wood handle marked for solid French.950 fine sterling silver on both the bottom of the pot and the rim of the lid. American standard sterling silver is .925 fine, so there is slightly more silver in this alloy. Please see pictures in the photos above for my research on these marks. This beautiful piece has a sinewy gadroon motif around the side of the pot and the slip on lid matching the wood pieces attached. It is in beautiful condition with only some dings, no monogram, a slightly loose handle and some fine scratches from gentle use and care. It is an excellent piece for almost any décor or table setting and a great piece for the silver collector.

Condition
: some dings, no monogram, slightly loose handle, some light scratches from gentle use and care.
