Description
Here is a flat (staple and matches removed) front strike matchcover from the Brookville Hotel “A Pioneer of Kansas” which was established in 1870. There is no explicit linking of this hotel to “Brookville, Kansas” but I assume this is so. Helen Martin was the manager. This hotel probably had the very first telephone probably back when Brookville was wired up. It has the lowest telephone number of them all: just Phone 1. There is no glue, tape or handwriting on the inside of this matchcover. This matchcover looks really nice in the eBay scan but I have to tell you that the folds are very strong at the saddle. I would suggest that the winner put some reinforcing tape on the inside as a pre-emptive measure.Shipping Cost:
